Picnic in the Park

As an end of year celebration, we made our own sandwiches and visited Victoria Park today for a picnic and a play! We were very excited because the sun came out and we had a lovely afternoon.

We chose what we wanted on our sandwiches yesterday making sure that we were choosing items from the different food groups and that they were healthy as well as tasty.

We then made them this morning.

At the park we had picnic in the bandstand and then had a play on the playground.

Dear Marcus Rashford ….

Dear Marcus Rashford,

I’m writing to you because I want to inform you about the England vs Iceland match on the 27th of June 2016. I just wanted to know how did you lose against Iceland because we have some really talented people (like you)

It was only the first 4 minutes of the game and Wayne Rooney went to take a penalty and…goooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaal! Then 2 minutes later, I jumped out of my seat when Gunn Arssons missed it but when Ragnar Sigursson scored -that was bad! What did you think?I thought it would be fine because we would score again because you are awesome. But then Iceland scored again in the 19th minute of the game. Then I started to get worried! Now the game was on! We had a few shots but still missed and the 19 minute Hart missed a slow moving ball! Still, I thought it was a good go at saving it but it would be better to save it! I was a bit annoying but it’s not your fault. Then it was half time and I thought Hodgson would bring you on. Did you want to go on the pitch and make it 3-2? I’m certain that you would have scored a goal or two because you are great at football.

What happened at half time in the dressing room? Did he say you were going on the pitch? It would have been amazing if you had gone on the pitch then we would be happy and when we say ‘we’ I mean the whole country because we all depend on you! How do you feel to be a star? Then the second half started and it was only a few minutes of a game and Dier came off the pitch but it didn’t change anything.I was thinking ‘come on England’. I was astonished as we needed a big change.I hoped you would come on but you didn’t come. After that I was amazed that you only came on the 86th minute especially when you were really good at passing and having a few chances but at least you went on the pitch and had a chance. I was getting worried then… full time!

Well, were out! It’s a bit of a shame really.I wanted England to win the Euros so I’m really sad. I just wanted to know if you’d come to Russell Scott as we have lots of United fans at our school and would love to meet you. If you can’t visit, we would be thrilled if you commented on our blog or retweeted our letters.

Dear Marcus Rashford …..

Dear Marcus Rashford,

I’m writing to you because I’m horrified. What happens out there? How did England lose? How did you get so good but were unable to help England?

During the first few minutes my hopes were cheering. After 3 minutes we got a penalty and when Rooney scored I was delighted.Hollandorsson’s awful challenge on Sterling was a shocker! But Iceland scored with in 2 minutes. How could Hart not stop such a goal? How did you feel? Did you want to help your team? Did you want to go out there and win?

In the second half of the game I was positive England would score many more goals. But my luck was fading. My dreams weren’t cheering my dreams were crushed.ICELAND WON! I felt terrible.I know England would have won if you were on earlier.

After the second half of the match, did you wish you could have gone on sooner?I bet England will win next time!(Not sarcasm). Still I bet it was really embarrassing for England to lose to Iceland.I mean you’ve beaten them years ago so how did England lose? Do you think they trained even more? I’m a huge United fan please tweet my class.

Thank you for you’re time.

Dear Marcus Rashford …..

Dear Marcus Rashford,
I’m writing to you because I would like to ask you about how you would have improved the game against Iceland on Monday the 27th of June . I think you would have scored some goals if you came on at least at the start of the second half then England would have won at least 4-2.

Four minutes into the game Raheem Sterling won a penalty and Wayne Rooney stepped up to the ball to take the penalty . I jumped out of my seat in excitement and I shouted ‘Go on Rooney !!!!!’ As Rooney ran to take it, he shot and the ball and it whizzed into the back of the net ‘Yes!’ I shouted and ran around the room where I was watching the match as Rooney jumped up in the air and celebrated. What was wrong about the defenders? I think they weren’t bothered and they were switched off.

When the whistle blew at the start of the second half, did you think Roy would have put you on in the 50th minute of the match? I think you would have scored at least two goals and England would have won and plus you’re a better player and more skilful on the ball. What time of the match do you think Roy should have put you on? I think he should have put you on at the the start of the second half. When you did come on you played really well and you attacked the goal a lot. In fact you nearly scored!

Over all what did you think of the match? I thought it was a disaster. How were the players feeling after the match? What do you think about Roy Hodgson leaving?

Thank you for reading my letter I would like you to reply.

Thank you for your time

Kian

Dear Marcus Rashford ….

Dear Marcus Rashford,

I am writing to you because I want to ask you some questions about the match and how you thought about it. So I hope you reply to my commentary about the match.

At the start of the match I thought we would definitely win but my thoughts were wrong! In the match, in the 4th minute was the dreadful challenge against Sterling. I thought that sterling would have been injured but I hoped and I wished that he was fine and he was perfect. At the time didn’t you think the ref should have given the keeper a yellow card? But the ref pointed to the spot and I thought Rooney would smash it into the net and he did! Were you delighted? I think you would have been amazed with the shot. Then after 2 minutes Iceland scored so I was furious .How did Andorson jump higher then Rooney? In the 19th minute they scored again! It wasn’t Joe Hart’s fault because he could not save the ball but then it went back into the of net. Now my face was filled with anger. Was your face red and were you angry? In the rest of the half nothing really exiting happened. At the end of the first half I thought you should have came on . Don’t you think so? Don’t you think you should have definitely came on? I’m so angry about that are you?

So now it was the second half and not much happened, but Rooney had a good shot on goal but the keeper saved it. I was confused that the strong shot was saved by a little team. How did he save it?All that England did was just long shots which I thought would definitely not work. Also the great shot at the edge of box didn’t work and Roy wasn’t being a good manger for the match .

Ok sorry if I’m being a bit mean at Roy -sorry about that!

Also can you pease reply to me and thanks for your time and for listening,

Lucas

Dear Roy Hodgson …

Dear Roy Hodgson,
I’m writing to you because I’m up set about the England vs Iceland game, which was in France On Monday 27 June 2016.What happened?
During the first half, Raheem Sterling got a penalty because the Iceland goalkeeper did a dirty foul. I was so delisted when Wayne Rooney strode up against the goalkeeper. Amazingly, we scored a GOAL!What did you think about Rooney’s goal? 1minute into the game, Iceland scored a goal and the goal was by Ragnar Sigurasson. What did you think about the long throw? But I knew England would score but-NO!Iceland score again! At half time, England got booed off the pitch! How did you feel about your team getting booed off?Did you think it was your fault?
During the second half, I knew that England could have but no! Should you have put Marcus Rashford before the second half? Then things nearly got worst in the..55th minuet Iceland attempted a over head kick but joe hart saved it.you still did not make a change so England did not get any better! I was getting really frustrated why didn’t you bring Marcus Rashford on?
Over all what did you think about the match ? How were you and your team feeling ? How did you feel when your team got booed of the pitch?
Thank you for your time

Dear Marcus Rashford …..

Dear Marcus Rashford,

I’m writing to you because I want to ask you some questions about the embarrassing match on Monday 27th of June -Iceland vs England.

What did you think of Rooney’s penalty goal ? I jumped of my seat when Rooney scored. Shockingly,Iceland equalised by a long throw into the box and a header into bottom corner.I was all fine when they scored because we could have scored again but it was too late- Iceland scored again! When the whistle blew, how did you feel to be 2 – 1 down? I felt shocked but I thought we could score in the second half. All of the shots were frightening because we could score or Iceland could score.

Marcus Rashford, what did you feel like in the dressing room ? When you came on the pitch you were cracking with skills and passing and it was a great effort by yourself and Joe Hart. Your second half was amazing because there were great players taking chances to score but the ball skimmed the crossbar or was saved by the keeper. Then we had lots of changes left but Roy didn’t put anyone else on. You’re my favourite player on England’s football team so I jumped off my seat when you shot- it was amazing. I heard the noise of the ball going whhoooooosshhh and then bang because the ball hit the crossbar.

The match was incredible but it was embarrassing for us but it was a great effort by everybody. I liked your shot- I did a headless chicken dance!

From Charlie
PS Please write back and tell me about your feelings and who’s your mate from England team.
